My Other Creations: Holiday Collage Using Concord & 9th's Take a Bough Dies

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Winter Wonderland is our theme this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I'm a sucker for pink trees, so I decided to incorporate them into my little wintery collage:

These trees were made with the new Take a Bough die from Concord & 9th.  There's a spiffy YouTube video on how to make them, but it's just a matter of cutting lots of branches and gluing them into wagon-wheel designs, like so:

I added little splotches of Distress Ink to my branches to give them even more visual variety.  I then painted a skewer pink and loaded all of the branches onto the skewer to form the trees.

Once I had the trees done, I set them against a fabric scrap background.  I added some scribble circles using My Favorite Things' Scribble dies, then added a scallop banner using Reverse Confetti's Double Scallop die.  I finished it off with a sentiment made from Reverse Confetti's Winter Word Coordinates stamp.  I put the whole project in a teal frame I had in my stash with the trees layered in front of the scene.

Here's how it looks as it gives a little holiday cheer to my craft space (because as you can see, I don't have enough stuff in there as it is).

Here are the supplies I used on this project that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

My Cards and Tags: Cards Made From Library Cards

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
"Just a Pinch" is this week's theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and I decided to go with a pinch of Dewey...as in Melville Dewey and the Dewey Decimal systemThat's right, kids!  I've thrown in some library ephemera!  And a huge thanks goes to my crafty friend, Mimi, who sent these old library cards my way.  She's made some really great projects with library cards herself and inspired me to go this route for this week's theme.

I started with the Date Due cards as my base, then cut out some frame shapes with Waffle Flower's Tag Starter dies and Scallop dies.  I got the sentiments from Webster's Pages' Hall Pass paper set.

I added some swirls from My Favorite Things' Scribble die set and their Geek is Chic glasses die. I added some small tags from Mama Elephant's Mini Tags die and added a flower or two.

Anything that's library-related truly is near and dear to my heart and these cards are no exception!  Here are the supplies from Simon Says Stamp that I used to make them:

I'm excited to see what you embrace just a pinch of for this week's challenge!  Upload your creations to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!

Snapping Monsters Stamps: Birthday Girl

Happy Weekend, fellow crafters!  Here's a birthday card I made using the Snapping Monsters stamp set I recently released:

You know I'm a sucker for ink smudging, so that's what I did to the book-page background.  I smudged Distress Ink on with sponges, then stamped my girl on white paper.  I colored her with more Distress Ink and some Spectrum Noir markers, then fussy-cut her out.  I gave her a haircut and added a party hat, stuck her to my background, then added the sentiment and circled it with Prima wire thread.

I cut out some additional words from another book page with a larger font that were party-related and added them to my background, too.

Such a fun card and I hope that my friend will enjoy it for her birthday!

My Cards and Tags: Card with Simon Says Stamp Holiday Circle Sayings

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
Holly Jolly Stamping is this week's theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and I had a great time playing around with several of Simon's own products for this one.

I started with some Prima Royal Menagerie paper, then stamped on some Simon Says Circle Holiday sentiments.  And lo and behold!  As I dug through my stash, I realized that several of the circle sayings corresponded nicely to the circles from Simon's Sparkle and Shine set and Scribble Flowers set, which I stamped inside the sentiment circles.  I smudged on some Distress Ink to color the circles and added some die-cut snowflakes from Simon's Snowflake Banner.

The Believe sentiment is also part of the Holiday Circle Sayings set and I made the trees using Simon's Scribble Trees stamps and dies.  I embellished with a pearl brad and some yarn wrapped around the bottom.  If you look closely, you can also see Simon's  grunge alphabet used in the background.

LOVE this time of year and enjoyed this Holly Jolly theme so much.  You can find the products I used at Simon Says Stamp:

So how will you show your Holly Jolliness?   Can't wait to see what you've got up your clever sleeves!  Upload your creations to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to inspire us and win yourself a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store.
