Hello everyone! Have you ever felt the need to repeat some sort of positive mantra to yourself when life is a little crazy? I've found myself telling me, "You got this," lately, so I thought I could at least make a visual reminder of this mantra instead of looking like a weirdo by whispering it to myself over and over.
This little framed piece was made with stamps from my stamp set, which you can find here. I tried something new by fussy-cutting the girl out, then sticking her head back on at a tilted angle (maybe my love of Kelly Rae Roberts' style coming through). But I do like the added bit of thoughtfulness and whimsicality it seems to give the girl.
I hope whatever positive mantra you've adopted is enough to get you through to the weekend! Yay for almost-Friday!

My Other Creations: American Crafts Valentine Fortune Cookies Kit
Even though Valentine's Day has brought mixed emotions for me over the years (fun when I was super little, traumatic when I was in elementary school and drama broke out over how many valentines you did or didn't get, annoying during my single years...), I did embrace this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme of Love Is In The Air (with an emphasis on incorporating red)!
I made these handy-dandy Valentine's fortune cookies using a kit from American Crafts.
Because I am apparently addicted to adding fabric scraps to anything and everything, I embellished these a bit with some fabric scraps and words spelled out with Tim Holtz's label letters.
The kit I used surely made these convenient, especially because it included the fortunes, too. But if you want to make your own fortune cookies from scratch (all you really need is a paper circle and some glue), here's a video I made on how easy it is:
Here are the supplies I used for my quick little fortune cookies, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

My Other Creations: Hero Arts 3D Houses
This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is Best Friends. I've been blessed to always have my family members be my best friends, so I went in a homeward direction:
These 3-D houses were pretty easy to make using the Hero Arts 3-D Fancy House die. I didn't see too many online examples using this die, so just for a point of reference, the die makes a house that's about 1.5" tall at its highest point.
As you can see, I made these houses different heights, but I still used the same die. You basically just hang the die over the edge of your cutting platform so that the bottom edge doesn't cut. Then you can make them as tall as you want.
Here's a video I made showing this technique:

My Other Creations: Shine Flag
This week's challenge theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is Stencil It! You don't have to tell me twice to whip out the stencils! I decided to make a pennant flag using a few of my stencil faves and scraps from former projects.
I love the mini paint lids stencil, which I used for the polka-dot effect on the background of this pennant. I also included some blobs and drips from Tim Holtz's Splatters stencil. I loved the wacky wonky loops in StencilGirl's Mix and Match Scalloped Edges stencil, so I outlined the stencil, then fussy-cut all the openings and attached it to the top of my pennant. I accented it with hydrangeas cut with the Martha Stewart hydrangea punches. The lightbulb is from Concord and 9th's Shine Brighter stamp set. The "Shine" sentiment is spelled with letters from an old stamp set I had from Kaisercraft.
This project was full of scrappy-stencil fun! Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
I know you have plenty of stencils at the ready, so show us what clever creations you come up with! Upload your creations to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for your chance at fame and fortune...or at least a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Store, which is just as good!
