My Other Creations: Dina Wakley 6x6 Journal Page using Inky Antics' Quirky Alphabet Stamps

Oh how I love letters!  That's why I was excited about this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme, which is Typography.  I decided to delve into my new Dina Wakley 6x6 white media journal and made this page:

The new Dina Wakley white media journal has pages that are THICK and gorgeously textured.  And I love the 6x6 size.  I started this off by heat-embossing the letters onto the right side of the page with white embossing powder.  I then stamped them in black on the left side of the page.  Because the pages are so textured, the heat-embossed letters didn't show up the greatest, but did provide a little bit of background design.

I love stamping with Oil Pastels, which is what I did next.  I took this fabulous stamp by Seth Apter, colored it with Prima Oil Pastels, then spritzed it with water.

Then I stamped it onto my page.  It gives the stamp a watercolor-type of look.

I added some Tim Holtz Washi tape to the background, then colored around the area with more Oil Pastels.  I blended the colors with a water brush and added some white paint to tone down the straight edges of the Washi tape.

All that was left was to add some colorful collaged paper scraps, some Tim Holtz paper dolls and the sentiment.  I outlined the page with a black Oil Pastel.

Page one done in this fun new journal!

Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
