My Cards and Tags: Christmas Tag using Flora and Fauna's Snow Much Fun Stamp Set

Sweater weather is here again and Christmas will be here before we know it!  This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is all about getting ready for Christmas.  I made a tag using the adorably quirky "Snow Much Fun" stamp set from Flora and Fauna.

I started with Strathmore Mixed Media paper that I cut into a tag shape.  I used the Sizzix Tag Collection dies and gave the tag a scalloped edge using Pink and Main's Scallop Border dies.  I painted the background, then when the paint dried, I stamped it with circles from Simon Says Stamps' Circle Sayings Holiday and Scribble Flowers stamp sets.

Next I painted inside the circles with some lime green and turquoise acrylic paint.

While the paint was drying, I stamped and fussy-cut out my snow globe elements.

All that was left was to put this together!  This was relatively easy to make and I was glad for this opportunity to look ahead to Christmas (since it always sneaks up on me even though I know when it's going to be every year)!!

My Other Creations: Paper Scrap Book using Reverse Confetti's Square Window Tag Die

"Stitch It" is this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme and I was only too happy to crack out my sewing machine!  I ended up making this...book of scrap paper?  Scrap paper book?  Paper scrap book?  Not sure what it is exactly, but here you go:

I started by cutting out two tags using Reverse Confetti's Square Window Tag die.  Then I punched a hole in one using a 2.5" circle punch.  The paper I used was Strathmore Mixed Media paper.

I stamped a silhouette guy from Dina Wakley's Abstract Figures stamp set and fussy-cut it out.  Then I brought on the paint!  I smeared Dylusions acrylic paint onto my tags and guy.

I toned down the colored paint with white paint, added some different colors, then outlined all the edges with black acrylic paint.

I cut another little piece of paper to use on the binding of the book (Bingo numbers), glued some plaid paper and text paper to my guy and added some wonky stitching.  Then I grabbed some scraps of patterned paper and sewed them all together to form what would be the inside of my book.

To put everything together, I taped my stack of patterned scrap paper to the back of my book cover, then sewed it together up the left side.  I stamped and cut out the word "Boundless" (from Inky Antics Circles and Frames stamp set) and glued it to the top of the book.  I also punched out a file tab (using We R Memory Keepers' tab punch) and glued that to the top as well.

Here's a peek of the inside with the cover open:
