My Other Creations: Tag Notebook using Elizabeth Craft Design's Bubbles Die and Dina Wakley's Collage Collective

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is Going Around in Circles.  If you have seen any of my projects, you can probably tell that I am in the pro-circle camp!  I love rings and dots and circles of all kinds and decided to make a tag notebook with some circle elements on the cover.

This is a tag that I cut and folded in half and filled with scrap paper.  The fun white circle shapes are from Elizabeth Craft Designs' Bubbles die and I also got an assist from Dina Wakley's Collage Collective book.  The black circles are from a Paper Artsy stamp.

Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

Video tutorials: Four Ways to use Water Soluble Oil Pastels

I've kind of gotten addicted to using Water Soluble Oil Pastels.  I made this tag using them and employed four different techniques along the way.  If you're wanting to add them to your artistic arsenal but have no clue of what they are or how to use them, then maybe this tutorial video I made would be helpful.

My Other Creations: Journal Page using Dina Wakley's 6x6 White Media Journal and Tim Holtz's Glitch 2 Stamp Set

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme is "all a-buzz."  Since the crafting community has been buzzing about the new Distress color being released this month, I used only Distress products to color my journal page.

I started out with my Dina Wakley 6x6 white media journal.  The pages are very thick and textural-- almost like a flexible canvas/paper combo.  I used Tim Holtz's Dotted stencil and sprayed on Distress Stain Spray (Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Worn Lipstick).  I didn't want the whole entire background covered with stenciled dots, so I cut a circle out of a piece of paper and laid it on my page before I sprayed.  Then, after I sprayed, I removed the circle and it left a nice big circular area of white on the background.

I added some more stenciling, this time using Tim Holtz's Haftone stencil and some white paint.  When that was dry, I did some stamping with Tim Holtz's Glitch 2 stamp set.

And as always, I had to get my teals, blues and greens in, which I did with Distress Paint.  I also added some brown tones around the edges using Ground Espresso.

The colors were a little too bold for the look I was going for on this one, so I toned some areas down with another layer of white paint.  Then I added some more stamping (still using the Glitch 2 set) and added some tiny little plus signs (Altenew's Positivity Washi tape).

Last but not least was the sentiment.  I got this from Inky Antics' Paint Love stamp set.  I re-arranged the words, cut them out and glued them on.
