My Other Creations: Embossing Paste Tin

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
"Emboss It" is this week's theme over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I decided to whip out my Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste and create a textured tin:

This tin started out as shiny silver, so I sanded it and painted it with green and brown acrylic paint for an aged look.  Then I added a thick uneven layer of white embossing pasteI took some rubber stamps, spritzed them with water (to keep the embossing paste from sticking to the stamp), then stamped into the wet embossing paste.  Then I spritzed on some Distress spray and let it dry overnight.  I covered up most of the background texture on the inside of the tin, but here is the outside of the tin and you can see this effect more easily:

Love these memo pins and one trick I use with them to keep them from sticking people is to add plastic earring backs around the sharp part at the bottom.  You can see I've also added some paper embellishment using the new Tim Holtz Sizzix Mixed Media die.

For the inside of the tin, I used a 3D house die, but I cut it in half so that it was narrow enough to fit inside my tin.  I added some other paper shapes, a bit of yarn, some Washi, etc.

At some point, I suppose I have to be honest and ask myself if I really needed another decorative tin.  Heck yes, I did!  Who doesn't?  It was fun to make and I really do love the texture that can be achieved through stamping on embossing paste.

Here are the supplies I used on this project that you can get at Simon Says Stamp:
