My Other Creations: Notebooks Using Inky Antics' Branching Out Stamp Set

This week's theme over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is "Feminine/Girly."  It's been a while since I played with mini notebooks, so I made two of them featuring fun female sentiments.
As I usually do, I started with Strathmore Mixed Media paper, which holds up nicely to paint and water.  I cut pieces in the shape of my notebooks, then added some Tim Holtz Merchant Washi tape.

I stamped on some circles from Dina Wakley's "Weird is Good" stamp set and toned down the Washi with white acrylic paint.

And now for the COLOR!  I whipped out my Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers and painted around the edges, then spritzed them with some water from a spray bottle to move and blend the color even more.

From this part of the process, it's always a string of adding things, painting over things, changing my mind and ripping things off, then sticking things back on....it makes it tricky to take process shots when it's such a twisty path from A to B.  Be that as it may, here is how the blue one turned out:

I ended up adding a lot of white to the second notebook.  The branches on each of these are from Inky Antics' Branching Out stamp set.  The sentiment on this one is from Crafty Comments.

Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
