Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Happy Halloween Tag using Tim Holtz's Vault Ghost Town and Moonlight Scare Die Sets

Welcome to October and to another fun Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  Our theme this week is to "tag it".  We're also featuring the products of Tim Holtz.  I went with a Halloween scene and used some of Tim's older and newer stamp sets and dies.

I started with a piece of Distress Kraft Heavystock and painted it with blues and purples to create a night sky background.  I flicked Dina Wakley's Media White Gloss Spray on it to mimic stars.

While that dried, I cut out two rickety houses from Tim Holtz's Vault Ghost Town die set.  I glued yellow paper behind the shapes to make it look like light was coming through the windows, then I dabbed on some yellow paint to give the light a fuzzy glow type of look.  I also added some subtle shading to the houses using Distress Watercolor Pencils.

I decided to add a spiderweb to the background instead of a moon.  The spiderweb is from Tim's Trick or Treat stamp set (an oldie but a goodie).  I stamped it with Distress Embossing Ink, then heat embossed it with a heat tool and white embossing powder.  I also added a bit of white to my houses to make them stand out from the dark background a little bit better.  I also scribbled around the edge of the tag with a Distress Watercolor Pencil.

Next I stamped my sentiment, which came from Tim's stamp and stencil combo pack THMM194.  I also cut out some bats from the Vault Moonlight Scare die set.

I glued everything together and my tag was complete!

Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
