My Cards and Tags: Tags Made with Alcohol Ink

Hello, hello and welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  This week's theme is all about alcohol.  I don't drink alcohol, but I do love playing with alcohol ink!  Here are two tags I made, along with process pics of how I got there.

In the spirit of full disclosure, I had a supply disaster along the way with this one.  I gathered all my alcohol inks and thought I had a pack of yupo paper (which I'll link to the Simon store because it's an awesome product).  But alas!  I just did a craft room revamp and couldn't find the yupo.  It either never existed in my stash like I thought it had or I put it somewhere so deeply organized and clever that I will never find it again.  At any rate, I had my ink ready to go with no paper to work with!  In the end, in a pinch, I grabbed some photo paper for the computer printer and used the back of it.  I alternated dripping and splatting down alcohol ink with alcohol blending solution and here is where I ended up:

Next I cut up some of the panels, which is always kind of painful, but I knew the panels would more useful to me in scraps for this project.  Before cutting up one of the panels, I stenciled over it with a Scrapberry's dot stencil and white acrylic paint.

Now that I had some colorful shapes and scraps, I cut some tags out of black paper and glued my alcohol ink scraps onto the tags.  I added acrylic paint in white, blue, teal, yellow and orange.

I do enjoy Washi Tape, so I added some of that on as well.  I also stamped some paint circle shapes (from Inky Antics' Color Wheel stamp set) onto deli paper and tore those up into more usable scraps.

I needed a focal point, so I stamped, fussy-cut and colored these figurines (from Inky Antics' Silhouette Sentiments stamp set).  I colored them with Prima Oil Pastels and glued them to some black cardstock background frame-looking shapes.

I added a few more touches to my figures and glued them onto my tag.

And here's a close-up of the second tag:

I am excited to see what you come up with for this week's challenge theme!  Be sure to upload your creation to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 to the Simon Says Stamp store.
