I love this Sizzix house die and started right in with Strathmore Mixed Media paper, some text stamping (from the Muse News stamp set) and some stenciling with Simon Says Stamps' Falling Snow stencil and white paint. This is one of my favorite stencils for adding texture.
Next I used the Dina Wakley Spaced Dots stencil. I colored some of the dots in with Derwent Inktense Colored Pencils, then expanded the color with water and a brush. These colored pencils do amazing things with water!
Next I added some Tim Holtz Washi tape and did a bunch of coloring with Distress Crayons and acrylic paint in shades of teal, green, blue and yellow. I also added a pop of pink with Daniel Smith's Opera Pink watercolor paint. I covered the roof piece with Washi tape as well.
I glued my house pieces together and while that dried, I stamped and fussy-cut my roller skating bird.
Last but not least was assembly. I used some 3D dots to attach the bird to my house to give him a bit of dimension.
