This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme is, "Sprays and Splashes." It's been awhile since I've made a black-edged notebook, so I was back at it again!
I started with Strathmore Mixed Media paper and plenty of sprays and spritzes. I used white paint, Speckled Egg Distress Spray Stain, Infusions Sleight Blue, Dylusions Shimmer Spray in Fresh Lime, Dina Wakley's Turquoise Gloss Spray, and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink that I spritzed with water.
Once all of that wet craziness dried, I stuck on some Washi Tape (Memory Box's 'Twas the Night Before Christmas and Tim Holtz's Salvaged). My eyes were dying for a little more color variety, so I took a piece of goldy-green paper from a collection called Cogworks and punched holes out of it with a 3/4" circle punch. I painted around the circles in bright colors of acrylic paint (Dylusions Tropical Sangria, London Blue, Lemon Drop and Dina Wakley's Fuchsia).
I glued my circle panel down and added some Altenew Many Dots Washi tape to the top and the bottom.
I had some graph paper lying around, so I stamped several lines of sentiment on it using Inky Antics' Encouraging Words stamp set (I love the text designs in it). Then I cut a scallop-edge border out of the stamped graph paper.
I glued the graph paper along the edge of my notebook cover and added on some more acrylic paint. I wanted more pink and yellow/orange.
I added a Dylusions Back Chat sticker to the front ("start somewhere"- which seemed to be a good message for life right now). I outlined the whole cover with black paint and splattered some final black drips onto it, then sewed it onto my notebook.
Here are the supplies I used that you canf ind at Simon Says Stamp:
