My Other Creations: Distressed Tin using Tim Holtz Junk Drawer Baseboards

"Grunge it up" is this week's theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I couldn't help but reach for gungy Tim Holtz products to make this wonky little tin.

I started with a basic metal tin that I sanded and painted using Distress Paint and Dina Wakley paint.

Next I stenciled some dots onto my tin using a Dina Wakley stencil and white paint.

While that was drying, I sanded the edges of some Tim Holtz Junk Drawer Baseboard pieces and painted them with acrylic paint.

I punched a hole in some of these pieces using my Crop-a-dile, then wound wire through them and around them to connect them all in a 3D stacked structure.  I adhered the base piece to the lid of the box.  Here's a side view.  When you look at the lid straight-on, these shapes appear to be floating on top of each other.

I stamped out one of my favorite Tim Holtz sentiments ("the greater the artist, the greater the doubt"), cut it into strips, and glued it to my tin.  And with that, this little project was done!

Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

My Other Creations: Tag Book using Tim Holtz Collage Typeset Collage Paper

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme is "Summer Memories."  I made a little tag booklet with a summery vibe.

I started with a tag cut out of Strathmore Mixed Media paper.  I covered it with UHU glue and stuck on Tim Holtz's Typeset Collage Paper, then trimmed around the edges.  I folded the tag in half.

I flipped the tag horizontally and added a strip or two of Washi tape, then I smeared on some acrylic paint.

Next I made the pages by cutting some patterned paper (MME Gingham Gardens) to size and sewing them to the spine of the tag-cover.

I added a few dots of hot pink to the cover, stuck on a sentiment sticker, added a yellow rubber band to keep it closed and this summer tag book was done!

My Cards and Tags: Great Day Tag using Halftone & Rings, Glitch 2 and Grunged Stamp Sets

Happy 10th Birthday to Simon Says Stamp!  To celebrate, our theme for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is "Happy Birthday."  We're also highlighting products from Stampers Anonymous.

I started with a tag using Strathmore Mixed Media paper and I stamped it with several images from Stampers Anonymous stamp sets (Halftone & Rings, Grunged, and Glitch 2).

I colored some of the areas in using Distress Crayons and smeared around the color with water and a paintbrush.  This is before I added water.

I liked the scribble, but decided it was not where I wanted the focal point to be, so I painted over it with white paint and stamped it again with Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink.  I cut a circle out of Dina Wakley's Collage book and glued some Altenew black and white polka dot paper on, too.

I added some black paint around the edge of the tag and glued on a girl, a pointy party hat, and a sentiment from Dylusions and this tag was done!
