Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Cold and Frosty Card using Dina Wakley's Fawns Stamp Set

A very merry Christmas week to you and yours!  May we all enjoy this season with those we love and look forward to lots of happy memories in 2025.  Over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog, we're finishing out the year with a 2-week-long challenge with the theme of Cold and Frosty.

I started by cutting this fabulous card shape using AALL & Create's Numberama die set, which I then painted with watercolors and some Infusions.

While that was drying, I stamped this adorable deer from Dina Wakley's Fawns stamp set and colored it with Distress Watercolor pencils.

To my card background, I added some snow stenciling, text strips, scribbling and some polka dots I'd stenciled onto deli paper.

I looked at my snowy scene and wondered if a deer might appreciate a scarf, so I added one to my deer and also gave the deer some frosty accents.

I glued my deer to the background and found a quote that I thought would be hopeful for those of us who get tired of all the cold.  I typed the quote on a typewriter and with that final touch, this card was done!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Christmas Tag using Pretty Pink Posh Fringe Tree Die

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is focused on making tags, boxes, bags -- anything that fits the theme of "It's a Wrap."  I made a tag using Pretty Pink Posh's Fringe Tree Die.

I started by cutting the tree shapes and painting them in greens and blue.

I assembled the tree and added some white paint.

I started on the background tag, which I smooshed paint onto.  This tag was cut with Gina K's Beautiful Bookmarks die set.

I painted ornaments onto my tree and also cut some ring shapes using Simon's Circle Loops dies.  I also made a tree trunk and stamped the sentiment, which is from Tim Holtz's Seasonal Scribbles stamp set.  I added some polka-dot stamped paper to my tag.  I stamped the polka dots with Trinity Stamps' Polkadot Pattern Background stamp.

I assembled everything and this tag was done!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: "Use Dies" Card using AALL & Create's Galactic Edges and Heartnook Dies

Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  Since we have officially started DieCember, our theme is to use dies.  I decided to go with some dies from AALL & Create to make this Rolodex-type of index card:

I started by cutting the card shape using AALL & Create's Galactic Edges die set.  They have all sorts of these card shapes and even sell a file box that they can be displayed in.  To get started on my card, I just smooshed some paint around and let that dry.

Next I had some therapeutic water coloring fun on a piece of graph paper, which I then spritzed with Dina Wakley's Black Media Gloss Spray.

While that dried, I used paint and Dina Wakley's Dotted Tape stencil to create some polka dots on deli paper.

I tore some scraps of the water colored graph paper and the polka dot paper and glued them onto my file card, like so:

I wanted some different colors added, so I took a piece of kraft cardstock and painted some designs on it with acrylic paint, then scribbled onto it with some Distress Watercolor Pencils.

Here is how the project was looking after I tore up part of the painted kraft page and glued it to the index card:

I also stamped some numbers at the bottom of the card using a ruler stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I added some ledger paper scraps here and there, too.  I decided I wanted to incorporate some rings or ring frames, so I cut some of them out using AALL & Create's Heartnook die set.  I painted the rings and stamped numbers onto the ring frame.

I glued the ring frame and a ring onto the card and then found this great sentiment from Dina Wakley's Ledger Paper, set 1.  I also added in some final touches of paint and scribbling and this card was done.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Sparkle Tag using Paper Artsy's Kate Crane KC006 Stamp Set

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is to add some sparkle.  We're also featuring supplies from Paper Artsy.  I made a sparkly tag which uses an image from Kate Crane's KC006 stamp set.

I started with this fun-sized 3" square Dina Wakley Tag.  I stamped the girl image and sentiment from Kate Crane's KC006 stamp set.  For some sparkle and shine, I cut a star panel out of shiny silver paper.  The stars are from Tim Holtz's Vault Wicked die set.

Bring on the color!  I glued the star panel to the bottom of the tag and added some Paper Artsy Infusions (Violet Storms) and spritzed that with water.  I added in some Daniel Smith watercolors and glued on the stars that had been cut out from the panel.  To give it more sparkle, I doodled around with an embossing pen and heat-embossed some gold glittery embossing powder onto the tag.

As that was drying, I colored my girl with Distress Watercolor Pencils and I made a crown for her, which I painted and added another star to.

I added some water and smoothed out the coloring on my girl's face.  I also splattered on some Ocean Gloss Spray to the tag.  When that dried, I glued the girl, her crown, and the sentiment to my tag.  Wah-la!  This tag was done!
