I started by making a big background that I cut into smaller pieces to make the covers of these notebooks. I took Strathmore Mixed Media paper and spritzed it with Dylusions Ink, then sprayed water over it to make the colors blend. I also flicked some Media Ink on, which dried in place instantly (those are the circles you can see in the background.
Once everything dried, I laid down a Moroccan stencil and painted over it with white paint. After the paint dried, I stamped an alphabet stamp onto the background with Embossing Ink and sprinkled white embossing powder over it. I hit it with the heat gun.
Once my collaged background was done, I cut it into the size of the notebooks. I sanded the covers of the notebooks (they were a bit slick), then glued the collaged paper down and then sewed around the edges just to make sure they stayed put.
I decorated each cover a bit differently. On the one below, I fussy-cut around a girl image from some Jane Davenport collage napkins and colored her hair with Distress Ink. I had the "Your Majesty" sentiment in my stash.
For the second notebook, I kept it simple and stamped the word "Resolve" with Simon's Grungy Alphabet stamp set and glued it to the cover.
On the third notebook, I made an abstract tree using Simon's Sparkle and Shine stamp set and a branch die I had in my stash. The sentiment was also from my stash.
Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
