This week's theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog is "inspired by music." My parents raised me to have an appreciation of musicals and one of my favorites has always been Les Miserables. I made a journal page with the song lyrics "On My Own" as a tribute.
There are no process shots this time because this went through a dizzying amount of revisions that I would not recommend to anyone in their right mind! The whole page was dripping wet with an ink spray/water disaster at one point, so we'll take it as a win that this page is dry and still has some recognizable elements!
To make the leaves stand out, I traced around a branch stencil (from Dina Wakley) and fussy-cut the leaves from all sorts of different patterned paper scraps, then glued them onto the page. There is some polka-dot stenciling in the background and some stamped elements on top. I also used some Prima Water Soluble Oil Pastels to add some color here and there.
Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

My Other Creations: Scrap Tag Book using Inky Antics' Circles and Frames
"Frame It" is this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme. I decided to stack up circles to create the frame opening in the center of this scrap tag book.
I started by cutting a tag out of Strathmore Mixed Media paper and stamping/cutting out a circle and a frame.
I added acrylic paint and cut the circle down smaller.
I stuck some Tim Holtz Washi tape on the background, then glued the text frame and circle frame on top.
I stenciled on some white paint using Simon Says Stamps' Falling Snow stencil, then I cut some scraps out of Dina Wakley's Collage Collective book. I added more white paint back on and also added some bright pink paint and some teals/blues.
I glued on the scraps from the Dina Wakley collage book.
I wanted this to be a small booklet, so I needed to cut some pages. Using the same tag die, I cut some pages out of Strathmore Mixed Media paper (black and white), Tim Holtz patterned paper, and a book page. Once my pages were cut, I lined them up and punched holes in them with my Crop-A-Dile.
I used wax thread to bind my book together and it was done!
