This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge is to use red, white, and/or blue. I decided to make some earrings.
I started by making some blue and white star paper. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stars Wafer Dies to cut out star shapes. I used blue and white cardstock. When those were done, I sanded some thin pieces of metal and glued my star paper to the metal pieces using Dina Wakley's media glue. Next I stamped some red stripes onto white cardstock using Tim Holtz's Media Marks 2 stamp set. I cut them out and did the same process of sanding some metal, then gluing the paper to the metal pieces.
Next I painted around the edges of my metal pieces.
I decided to change the shape of the star pieces, so I cut them in half, then glued some AALL & Create ephemera onto them. I added a touch of turquoise paint and a flat turquoise bead. I used my Crop-A-Dile to punch circular holes through the metal pieces, then connected them together with Tim Holtz Loop Pins at the bottom. I attached earring loops at the top.
