Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Tag using AALL & Create's Miss Dee on Crafting

Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  This week's theme is "punny/funny," which I think is an entertaining one.  I decided to use a quote from AALL & Create that made me smile.  There's actually a lot of truth in those words!

I started by making a painted and stamped collage.

While that dried, I made a second collage in a different color palette.

I cut the blue collage into a tag shape and cut the orange collage into a card shape which I punched some circles out of.  Then I glued the orange card to the blue tag.

This combo was looking iffy, so I added some other paint and stamped some more Tim Holtz images to the front.  Then I grabbed some paper scraps from the Paper Play book, cut circles out of one piece, and added scraps to the top and bottom.

I glued the panel to the side, then stamped my sentiment, cut it into strips and stuck it on the front to finish out my tag.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Happy Birthday Tag using Kate Crane's KCM023 Stamp

Happy 16th Birthday to Simon Says Stamp!  To honor that impressive milestone, "Happy Birthday" is this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme.  We're also featuring products from Paper Artsy.  Seth Apter and Kate Crane, both of whom I really like, have designed stamp sets for Paper Artsy.  I've used some of their stamps on my birthday tag.

I started by cutting a tag shape using AALL & Create's Hexalove tag die set.  Then I stamped some of Seth Apter's circle images (from ESA35) onto the tag to form a pattern.

I added paint and patterned paper to the circles and did some additional stamping (the small dots are from Seth's EM124 set).  Before long, my tag looked like this:

I chose one of Kate Crane's stamps (KCM 023) for the focal point and colored the image with Distress Watercolor Pencils.

I added her to the front of the tag and then did some more scribbling, stamping, and painting around.  I stamped the sentiment, cut it out, and glued it to the bottom.  Since we are celebrating Simon's 16th year, I stamped a "16" on a piece of paper, cut it, and added it to my girl.  Happy Birthday, Simon!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stars and/or Stripes Tag using Tim Holtz's Stars Stencil, Media Marks 2 Stamp Set, and Funky Floral Wreath Dies

Happy Monday and welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  This week's theme is "stars and/or stripes."  I incorporated both into the tag I made.

I started by cutting out the tag shape using the Simon Says Stamp Luggage Tags die set.  Then I painted some stars onto blue cardstock using Tim Holtz's Stars stencil.

While the paint was drying, I painted this blue and green panel.

I made a second painted panel in a different color scheme and stamped on some stripes using Tim Holtz's Media Marks 2 stamp set.

I cut the painted panel to match the size of my white tag and glued it to the front.  Then I cut an arch-shape out of my blue star paper and glued that on, too, along with the pink collage paper at the bottom. I cut a wreath out of Tim's die set and cut off the leaves and twigs so it was just a wonky circle-shape.  I painted it red and then typed a sentiment on my typewriter.

I put the whole thing together and my stars and stripe tag was complete!

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Drink Me Card using Tim Holtz's Treats Blueprint Stamp Set

Another Monday brings another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme!  This week it's food and/or drink.  I dug into my stamp archives for this Tim Holtz Treats Blueprint soda pop image.  I remember when these blueprint stamp sets first emerged, so using this stamp set again was a fun trip down memory lane.  And the images are still great all these years later!

I stamped the soda pop bottle, colored it with Distress Watercolor pencils and paint, then cut it out.  I created a collage for the background, then glued the soda pop bottle on top of my collage.  I cut the collage out using a Mama Elephant Deckled frame die.  To finish it off, I typed the words "Drink Me" on my typewriter, then cut out around it using a Mama Elephant tiny tag die that comes with the Goody Bag Topper die set.  I colored the "Drink Me" tag with paint, Distress Watercolor pencils, and cello tape and glued it on top to finish off my card.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Man of Faith Tag using Seth Apter's Gridiron Die Set

"Masculine" is this week's theme over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I made a tag paying homage to faith-filled men and used Seth Apter's Gridiron die set to create textural elements.

I started by cutting the tag (from Waffle Flower) and the fabulous Gridiron shape.  You can't beat a Seth Apter die!

I glued the gridiron piece to the tag and painted it.  I also sprinkled on some Infusions and spritzed that with water.

I wanted to introduce another color, so I cut a slide shape from Tim Holtz's Specimen die set and added some purples into the mix.  I took another piece of the grid shape and painted that as well.  I also found a scrap paper that I tore into another sort of frame shape.

All that was left was assembly!  I glued the layers together and added an image from Tim Holtz's Photobooth set as the focal point.  I added some scraps of black fabric, then typed a sentiment to finish it off.

Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Collage using Tim Holtz Media Marks 2 and Dylusions Intense Colour Caykes and Sticks

Welcome to June and to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  This week's theme is a Rainbow of Color and we're featuring products from Dylusions.

I started by making a scribbly page with Dylusions Intense Colour Cakes and Sticks and paint.

I grabbed a black Dylusions journaling tag and cut it in half to use as the base of my collage.

I ripped my scribbled page into pieces and glued them to the tag.

I blended the edges with white paint and added some stamping with Tim Holtz stamps.  I also added some Tim Holtz cello tape.

I took another piece of my scribbly page and punched holes in it then glued it to the top of my collage.  I added more arch-scribbles.

I finished off the collage with a quote that I cut from Dina Wakley's ledger paper, set 2.
