My Cards and Tags: Altered Snow Globe Tags using Paper Smooches' Super 2 and Reverse Confetti's See Through Tag Dies

"Cityscape" is our theme this week over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I made my version of a snow globe scene on these two tags:

I started with one of my favorite techniques, which is creating a panel out of random strips of washi tape.  All I did was stick the tape to white cardstock.

Next I got out the city dies, laid them on the washi tape panel, and ran it through my Sizzix Big Shot.

It looked a little like Crazy Town, so I toned down some of the blaring parts with white acrylic paint.  I outlined the buildings and some of the windows with a black Sharpie.

These were TOO white now (I know-- it is silly), so I added some color back in with acrylic paint.

Next I started working on the tags.  These tags came from a Reverse Confetti die called, "See Through Tag."  I used Strathmore Mixed Media paper.  Once they were cut, I stamped them with some text on the background.  The text is from an Inky Antics stamp set (designed by yours truly) called, "Encouraging Words."

I cut some circles out of black cardstock using Simon Says Stamp's Circle Loops dies and glued them around the hole opening.  Then I colored the tag backgrounds using more acrylic paint and Infusions color stain.

Next I glued the citcyscapes to the tag backgrounds.

I added some paper behind the cityscapes to show through the hole openings, added some white paint through a snow stencil, and outlined some parts of the buildings again (as well as the edges of the tags) with a black Sharpie.  I added some eyelets and twine to the top and finished them off with some Small Talk- Occasions sticker sentiments.

My Cards and Tags: Paper Badges using the Ink Road's Adulting Gold Stars Stamp Set

"Stars" is the theme of the week over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  It was the perfect opportunity for me to use The Ink Road's Adulting Gold Stars stamp set, which is pretty clever.  It definitely celebrates the small victories!

I started by stamping the sentiments into the star frame, then cutting out the stars.

Next I stamped some circles from Dina Wakley's "For the Love of Circles" stamp set.

I painted the inside of the circles with acrylic paint.

I stamped some funky text on the circles using Tim Holtz's Sideshow stamp set.  Then I cut some patterned paper into squares to be the base of my paper badges.  I covered some parts of the patterned paper with white acrylic paint, then stamped some loopy text on (with Dina Wakley's aforementioned "For the Love of Circles" stamp set).  I smeared on a bit of colored acrylic paint and glued the stars onto my painted circles.

I assembled everything together and outlined the edges with a black Sharpie.

My Cards and Tags: Christmas Tags using Simon Says Stamp's Clean Line Christmas Stamps

Another week has come and gone and we find ourselves in December!  I decided to go with some tree tags to fulfill this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog theme of adding some sparkle.  We're also using Brutus Monroe products.

I started by cutting some tags out of Strathmore Mixed Media paper and adding some acrylic paint to them.

Next I added some snow using white acrylic paint and the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil.

I drizzled on some Neon Pink Aqua Pigment and spritzed it with water.

I added more white paint onto the tags to tone down the background in preparation of adding my trees.

I cut triangles out of patterned paper, outlined them with a Sharpie, and glued them to the tags.  I heat-embossed silver around the edges.  All that was left was to stamp on the sentiments and add some die-cut snowflakes.  Done!
