Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Fall Mood Board Inspiration using Tim Holtz's Retro Oven Die

Hello, hello and welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!  This week's theme is to be inspired by the Fall mood board pictured below (mood board created by our talented teamie, Zoey).  I loved the black cat and the pumpkins, so those are the two elements I ran with to create my card.

Here is the mood board and here is how this card's journey began!

I started with this great Pumpkins Die Cover Plate by Papertrey Ink.  I cut a piece of light gray cardstock, then darkened it up with Black Soot Distress Ink and glued it to a white cardstock background.

Next I whipped out a couple of dies from Tim Holtz and went to work cutting and shading the pieces.  The oven is from the Retro Oven die set and the cat and cauldron are from the Toil and Trouble die set.

Back to the background!  I added color to my pumpkins using Distress Crayons and Distress Paint.  I smeared both onto my background and blended the Distress Crayons with just a little bit of water.  I also added some paint to my oven to make it look more aged.  Then I figured I needed something to be baking in my witchy oven, so I used a third Tim Holtz die set (Frightful Things) to cut out some bones to add to the scene.

The only thing left to do was to assemble!  Once everything was glued down, I flicked on some Dina Wakley Media Gloss Spray in Olive and Lime above the cauldron to make it look bubbly and steamy.  I also added a bit of gray to the bones in the oven.  I typed out the word "trouble" on my typewriter and added it to the pot to make it clear that someone was brewing up something mischievous!

Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
