Welcome to another Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge! The theme this week is "at the beach." I have so many happy memories of driving up the coast with my family for our summer vacations. I always felt my stress and troubles melt away as I stared out at the ocean. I decided to make a bright and happy notebook with a sea quote on the front to honor those vibrant and peaceful memories.
I started by cutting the notebook page shapes out of Seth Apter dies. I have yet to meet a Seth Apter die I don't like! The two folded pages are from his Mini Page Duo set and the plus-sign panel is from Paper Cutz #2.
I used Strathmore Mixed Media paper, which holds up nicely to all the paint and water and Distress Crayon scribbling I added.
I stamped some red dots on a piece of paper with a Tim Holtz stamp and cut up the plus-sign section of paper into a strip to go along the side of the book.
I assembled the components and this project was done! I plan to stick some family beach pictures inside it for a fun mini flip-through book.
Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
- Seth Apter Sizzix Die Set: Mini Page Duo
- Seth Apter Sizzix Die Set: Paper Cutz #2
- Strathmore Mixed Media Paper
- Dina Wakley Paint
- Distress Crayons: Set 2
- Distress Watercolor Pencils: Set 3
- Tim Holtz Psychedelic Grunge Stamp Set
- Distress Ink: Festive Berries
We can't wait to "sea" your beachy projects (see what I did there?), so upload them to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. You could win a $25 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!
