My Cards and Tags: Simon Says Stamp 2016 DieCember Release- Missing You

Oh how I love the Simon Says Stamp new releases!  And this DieCember's line-up is no exception!  I made this quick tag using the Missing You die, which I love because it comes with three different font choices.

I started this off by die-cutting a tag shape (Tim Holtz Sizzix Tag Collection) out of an atlas that I got at the thrift store.  I added a die-cut section of text paper that I cut with the Tim Holtz Sizzix Courtyard die.  I then rubbed on some Distress Ink (Festive Berries, Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Twisted Citron) with sponges.

I glued on a piece of orange polka dot patterned paper, then a die-cut ring from Seth Apter's Coffee Ring set.  I smeared a bit of white paint here and there to blend the elements together and finished it off with the new Simon Says Stamp Missing You die sentiment.

Quick and easy and even though I am geographically-challenged, I do love a good map for crafting projects!  And check out Simon's DieCember release if you're looking for some new crafting goodies to enjoy.

My Other Creations: Notebook Made with Simon Says Stamp's Hand Lettered Encouragement set

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is all about Christmas gifts!  Decorate them, make them-- whatever you feel inspired to do.  And we're highlighting some of Simon's own fabulous products.  I decided to make a notebook to give as a gift.

I started out with a notebook and all I did was revamp the cover.  I traced the shape of the notebook onto Strathmore Mixed Media paper and stamped on some images with Ranger Jet Black Archival ink.  I used trees from Simon's One With Nature stamp set (I wanted the inside of the trees blank, so I didn't ink the branches of the stamp this time) and the circles are a versatile fave from Simon's I Love Donuts stamp set.

Next I started "coloring" with sponges dabbed in Distress Ink.  I smeared color into the trees and into some of the different circles.  Then I dragged white paint down the piece. 

I've been having fun experimenting with coffee filters lately, so I cut a filter into strips, colored them with green Distress Ink, and glued them to the base of the cover.  I stamped a sentiment that I love (from Simon's Hand Lettered Encouragement set) on top of everything and glued my cover on top of the notebook.  Then I decided to add an embellishment to the top of the spine.  I made it by setting an eyelet in a piece of ruler ribbon and looping some Tim Holtz crinkle ribbon and other fibers through.  I colored the crinkle ribbon with Distress Ink and water.  Once it was done, I glued it to the top of the spine.

My Cards and Tags: Tree Tags Using Taylored Expressions' Build a Tag 3 Set

"O Christmas Tree" is this week's festive theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I made some tree-tastic tags:

I started by cutting the tag shape with Taylored Expressions' Build a Tag 3 die set.  I stamped circles on them with Memento Luxe Gray Flannel ink and Tim Holtz's Halftone and Rings stamp set.

Next I colored in some of the circles using Distress Ink and a sponge.  I added some scraps of vintage paper from Simon Says Stamp.

I finger-painted on a random layer of Dina Wakley's white acrylic paint.

While the paint dried, I worked on my trees.  I used Tim Holtz's Petal Drop Die to create the triangle shape (I cut off the rounded end), then I inked the triangle green.  I ran it through a paper crimper, then wrapped turquoise yarn around it.

I used Ranger Jet Black Archival ink to stamp on the "Fa, la, la" sentiment from Prima's Sweet Peppermint stamp set and outlined the edges of the tags with a black sharpie pen.

I adhered the trees and finished off the tags with embellishments from Tim Holtz.  I added Doodlebug Chunky Twine to the tops of the tags.

These tags were relatively quick and easy to make, which a must during the holidays!  Here are the supplies I used, which you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
