My Other Creations: Journal Page using Inky Antic's Encouraging Words Stamp Set

"Rust it Up" is our theme this week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  It seemed like the perfect time to use the Encouraging Words stamp I designed for Inky Antics.  One of the quotes refers to the beauty of rust, so I used that as my journal page focal point.

This page was a whole mess of stenciling, stamping, pattern-paper-scrap-gluing, painting and drizzling.  The quote was stamped on a piece of deli paper and glued on top of it all.

My Other Creations: Notebook Cover using Darkroom Door's Small Wildflowers Stencil

"Something New" is this week's theme at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog and we're also featuring products from Darkroom Door.  I decided to make a mini-notebook cover celebrating new growth.

I started with a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper that I stamped on.  I also did some dot-stenciling with white paint.

Next I got out my Dylusions spray inks, unscrewed the lids and drizzle-dripped a little bit of color onto the page.  Then I used a water brush to spread the color around.

While my paper was drying, I used a Darkroom Door stencil to trace two flowers.  I fussy-cut them out and then covered them with collaged paper scraps I had from previous projects.  I also added more stamping to the bottom of the cover.

I added some white acrylic paint back in to tone things down and added colored acrylic paint to the edges of the cover.  I also scribbled and smudged with a black oil pastel at the bottom.

My Other Creations: Party Time Page in Dylusions Creative Journal

PARTY TIME is this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme.  I went for a party-themed page in my Dylusions Creative Journal.

I started this journal page with some stenciling and acrylic paint.

While that dried, I decided to make my own patterned paper using lots of stamps and Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink on white cardstock.

I added some Washi tape next.

I smeared and smooshed on some acrylic paint.

I tore off some strips of my patterned paper and glued them to my journal page.

Things were looking a little crazy-pants, so I toned it down and blended the patterned paper in with white acrylic paint.

I made hats for some Tim Holt paper doll girls and outlined them with a black Sharpie.  I also stamped one last text frame onto my background.

I typed up a "party time" sentiment and added that to my girls and glued everything together.

I hope there are lots of good times ahead for the new year!
