My Cards and Tags: Card using Inky Antics' Stick Figure Fun

With Valentine's not too far away, our Simon Says Stamp  Monday Challenge Blog theme this week is LOVE.  I made a card using a stamp set I designed for Inky Antics called, "Stick Figure Fun."  This stamp set means a lot to me because the stick figures are a literal collaboration between me and my sweet little 5-year-old daughter.  So if you say to yourself, "Those look like a kid drew them!" then you are very perceptive because a kid did draw some of these and I think they are FABULOUS!!  I am forever trying to recapture that beautiful childhood abandonment and joy that I see in her projects.

I started by stamping a library card design in the background (Inky Antics' "Library Love" stamp set) and then added Washi tape and paint and some patterned paper.  It was really a mess of layers which is why I didn't end up with process pics.  This one was all over the charts.

Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:

My Other Creations: Magnetic Memo Board using Inky Antics' Encouraging Words and Tim Holtz's Photobooth Images

We are making home decor items this week for the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!  I made a magnetic memo board to display different quotes, like this one I designed for Inky Antics' Encouraging Words stamp set.

I started with a piece of Strathmore Mixed Media paper that I stamped and painted on.

Next I stenciled some white polka dots onto the background and glued on some photobooth pictures from Tim Holtz.

I added some acrylic paint in various colors as well as some Washi Tape.

I painted a square picture frame I had and added some brown around the edges of my background page.  Next I cut out a piece of sheet metal into a square the same size as my background page.  I put the page in the frame with the sheet metal square behind it so that magnets could stick to it.

I put the whole thing together and glued a magnet to the back of a Tim Holtz clip.  Then I stamped this quote onto a piece of patterned paper, which I cut out.  All that was left was to clip the quote to the board.

I wrote this quote for everyone (myself included) who may be going through something hard.  It's a reminder to be grateful of what we do have in the present and not waste time or energy wishing for something that can't be.  That's easier said than done, but no matter how dark things get, there's always something to be thankful for NOW.
