October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, so it only seemed fitting to "think pink" for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme. I made a tag book to remind us women everywhere that no matter what darkness we face, we never need to battle alone.
I started by cutting out a tag, folding it in half and turning it horizontally. Then I stenciled some dots onto it with white paint. Next I washed the paper surface with water and dripped some pink alcohol inks onto it. I added acrylic paint in yellow and green and blue.
I cut some arch shapes using a die called Picture Book Labrador (I love using the dog's torso to create some interesting negative space abstract shapes). I outlined the arches with a black Sharpie, then I glued them onto my tag and added some Cherry Pie and Ocean shades of acrylic paint.
I found some Tim Holtz paper dolls to put on the front and outlined them with a black Sharpie. Then I cut a Simon Says Stamp Circle Loop shape and painted it pink. I also added pink paint to my tag book cover.
I assembled a pile of scrap paper to make up the inside of my book.
I used a sewing machine to sew my pages together, then sewed them all inside my folder tag cover.
I typed the sentiment, cut out the words and glued them to the front cover. Here's the finished product!
Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
I'm excited to see your pink projects! Upload them to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!
