My Cards and Tags: Vellum Butterflies

http://www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge/
The challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog this week is, "We Can See Clearly."  How intriguing!  You could go with acetate or vellum or take that theme in whatever direction your little heart desires.  I went with vellum to make the butterflies on my Spring card:

I love Simon Says Stamps' Alpha Blocks die because it comes as one piece, so I decided to use all those letters for the back of my card, which I placed over a piece of paper with a wood-grain pattern.  I popped some of the letter grid backgrounds out and left some in for a bit of variety.  It's cut from a piece of paper from American Crafts' Documentary paper pack.  I smudged on some Distress Ink and added flowers stamped and cut with Simon's Watercolor Friendly Flowers set.

I added some vellum butterflies cut with Martha Stewart punches and inked them with more Distress Ink, then added Simon's "You're Amazing" sentiment.  I also added some Glossy Accent dots here and there for good measure.  I tied some embroidery floss around the bottom and this card was done!

Here are the supplies I used from Simon Says Stamp:

I'm very intrigued to see how you "see clearly" this week!  Upload your creations to the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog for your chance to win a $50 voucher to the Simon Says Stamp store!

  4. Your project makes me wish for die-cutting apparatus once-again (someday I'll have to take the plunge). I really like the alphabet background and your clever way of leaving in some of the bits. As always, your work is so colorful and cheerful and always brightens my day.
