My Cards and Tags: Tag Book using Crate Paper's All Heart Stamp Set

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is to get painty!  As a paint-addict, this was a fabulous challenge!  I made a tag book out of a Dylusions #12 journaling tag that I folded in half.

I started with a black tag, which I heat-embossed some black plaid background lines onto.  The plaid stamp is called "Criss Cross" from The Stamp Market.  Then I used a brayer to spread some white, light blue and green paint onto my surface.  Next I cut out a scallop-edged frame (also from The Stamp Market) and painted it with different colors of acrylic paint.

I stamped the sentiment (from Crate Paper's All Heart stamp set) onto the white background and added some dots with a Dina Wakley stamp.  The black open scallop on the side of the tag is a die from Jane Davenport's Happy Little Unicorn set.  I filled it with some patterned paper.  When my cover was done, I cut some paper for the inside and sewed the whole thing up the spine.

My Cards and Tags: Tiny Tags using Dina Wakley's Collage Collective

This week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme is "Miniature/Tiny Things."  I couldn't wait to get my hands on Dina Wakley's new Collage Collective, which is a book of Dina's artwork printed on both heavy and lighter-weight paper that you can cut up and use in your own projects.  I made three tiny tags using her paper as the base.

This is what I started out with: Dina's tags cut from the collage book and some patterned paper that I cut into circles and circle-frames.

From here, it was just a matter of gluing the layers on, then adding paint (white and different colors) here and there along with more tiny paper scraps.

I've always liked Dina Wakley's aesthetic (and I adore her acrylic paints) and it's been interesting to watch her style change over the years.  She always brings something refreshing to the table.  What I like about this Collage Collective book is that the paper in it can give you something to start with and build on.

The inspiring words are also from Dina Wakley (her "All the Gals" stamp set).
