My Other Creations: Notebook using Inky Antics' Math Misery Stamp Set

"Midsummer Blues" is this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge theme.  Whether it's midsummer or any other time of the year, math always gives me the blues.  In fact, I designed an entire stamp set around my lifelong math traumas and used it on this mini notebook.

I started with black Strathmore Mixed Media paper and heat-embossed some white math formulas onto it from the aforementioned Math Misery stamp set.  Next I made a collage with washi tape, stamping, acrylic paint and water-soluble oil pastels.  Once it was made, I took a palette knife and swiped some more acrylic paint down the front of it in straight smears like so:

This really does look like a big mess, as always, but I like making full pages of collage sheets because they work so nicely when you tear it or cut it smaller.  Here's a close-up of the crazy:

I cut out some shapes and tore up some pieces of this collage and glued them to the front of my notebook.  I also added in some pieces cut from Jane Davenport's Washi sheets.  I stamped a sentiment onto deli paper and glued it onto a white-painted section of my notebook cover.  I also made some tabs for the top.

Here are the supplies I used that you can find at Simon Says Stamp:
