Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Valentine's Tag using AALL & Create's On Cloud 9 and City Living Stamp Sets

Another new week and another new challenge over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog.  I've got to be honest -- Valentine's Day has never been my favorite "holiday".  In fact, if I made a list of my top holidays/occasions, it would not even make the upper 50.  It would be more like a -27.  I mean, sure!  I have a couple of good Valentine's Day memories, but for the most part, it has been a total downer day for about 99.8% of my life.  But hey!  That certainly doesn't mean I can't crank out a tag for this week's theme of "love is in the air."  I'm just saying that if you are a fellow non-fan of Valentine's Day, you've got a soul sister here.

I started by cutting a tag out of Kraft paper using Waffle Flower's Nesting Tags dies.  Then I painted the background with white acrylic paint and spritzed it with Distress Ink and Dina Wakley's Media Gloss Spray and let the inks and sprays drizzle and drip down the tag.

While that was drying, I stamped and fussy-cut some buildings, a cloud and a sentiment from AALL & Create's stamp sets (On Cloud 9 and City Living).  Then I painted the buildings with acrylic paint.

I glued the pieces to my tag and cut out some hearts using Simon Says Stamp's Mini Hearts die set.  I love the shapes of these hearts!  I painted them pink and added them to my tag.  I outlined the whole thing with a black pen and this was done.
