"Beginning with S" is this week's intriguing theme over at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog. I decided to make a tag card with products from some fantastic "S" Companies: Studio Light, Spellbinders and Simon Says Stamp.
I started by cutting out this tag using Strathmore Mixed Media paper, my Sizzix Big Shot, and Studio Light's tag die set (numbered as JLMM-CD192) from the Mindful Moodling line. I folded the tag in half. Then I cut out a pie circle from Spellbinders' Sky View Pies die set. I smeared paint on everything and cut out a circle-frame-shape from Vicki Boutin's Color Study patterned paper.
I added some more paint to the patterned paper and layered everything onto my tag and glued it down.
It was looking decent, but I needed MORE! I cut out a double-circle die shape using Simon Says Stamps' Circle Loops die and glued that on. I also stamped some faux stitching on using a stamp set from Studio Light.
I cut another little piece of patterned paper (same Vicki Boutin set), folded it in half and added some paint. This would serve as my little closure flap thing. Then I dug up a paperclip to keep it shut and decided to glue a little text strip to the front (from Tim Holtz's Number Strips ephemera pack). And with those final additions, this baby was done! Here it is halfway open to give a peek of the flap and the inside.
